Valentines Day

Every year on February 14th, something shifts in the air. The stores suddenly fill up with red and pink stuff teddy bears holding hearts, candy boxes wrapped in plastic, and more roses than most people see all year. It's like the whole world decided to decorate for love. Walk past any card shop and there they are, folks standing quietly, reading message after message, trying to find the perfect words. Some look excited, some look nervous, and some just grab the first funny one they can find. Even people who don't care about Valentine's Day can't escape it. The day is there, reminding everyone that love matters enough to get its own spot on the calendar.

But here's the thing about Valentine's Day it means something different to everyone. For some people, it's magical. Maybe it's their first Valentine's with someone new and everything feels exciting and a little scary in the best way. For others, it's comfortable. They make dinner together, exchange simple cards, and it's nice but not a big deal. Kids love it because they get to decorate little envelopes for their whole class and eat candy. But the day also has a quieter side. It's hard for those who just went through a breakup and now find themselves alone. It stings for people who have lost someone and the day feels like a spotlight on an empty chair. And for folks who have been single for a while and wish they weren't, February 14th can feel like the whole world is celebrating something they haven't yet found.

I think that's what "Always on Valentine's Day" is really about how one day can hold so many different feelings at once.
