Valentines Day

Every year on February 14th, something shifts in the air. The stores suddenly fill up with red and pink stuff teddy bears holding hearts, candy boxes wrapped in plastic, and more roses than most people see all year. It's like the whole world decided to decorate for love. Walk past any card shop and there they are, folks standing quietly, reading message after message, trying to find the perfect words. Some look excited, some look nervous, and some just grab the first funny one they can find. Even people who don't care about Valentine's Day can't escape it. The day is there, reminding everyone that love matters enough to get its own spot on the calendar.

But here's the thing about Valentine's Day it means something different to everyone. For some people, it's magical. Maybe it's their first Valentine's with someone new and everything feels exciting and a little scary in the best way. For others, it's comfortable. They make dinner together, exchange simple cards, and it's nice but not a big deal. Kids love it because they get to decorate little envelopes for their whole class and eat candy. But the day also has a quieter side. It's hard for those who just went through a breakup and now find themselves alone. It stings for people who have lost someone and the day feels like a spotlight on an empty chair. And for folks who have been single for a while and wish they weren't, February 14th can feel like the whole world is celebrating something they haven't yet found.

I think that's what "Always on Valentine's Day" is really about how one day can hold so many different feelings at once. Yes, there's all the commercial stuff, the heart-shaped pizzas and the overpriced flowers. But underneath that, there's something real. The day gives everyone permission to stop and say "I love you" out loud, which people aren't always good at doing the rest of the year. It makes some feel on top of the world and makes others feel lonely, sometimes at the exact same moment. And maybe that's why we keep coming back to it. Every February 14th, there's this little check-in with ourselves about where we stand with love whether we're swimming in it, missing it, or just trying to figure it out like everyone else.

Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival

The Intayon Festival is a vibrant cultural celebration held in the province of Ilocos Sur. The word intayon comes from an Ilocano term meaning “let us do it together,” reflecting the festival’s spirit of unity, cooperation, and shared heritage. The event showcases the strong communal values of the Ilocano people while honoring local traditions that have been passed down through generations.

During the festival, townspeople participate in colorful street dances, parades, and cultural performances that highlight traditional music, costumes, and indigenous rituals. Performers often wear intricately woven garments and move rhythmically to the beat of native instruments, symbolizing agricultural life, and gratitude for harvests. The celebration also features local crafts and food fairs where visitors can sample Ilocano delicacies and see traditional weaving and pottery firsthand.

The Intayon Festival serves as a reminder of the importance of cooperation and cultural preservation in Ilocano society. It strengthens community bonds by encouraging residents to work together in organizing events and sharing their cultural identity with visitors. For tourists, the festival offers a meaningful glimpse into the values, artistry, and traditions that make Ilocos Sur a culturally rich destination in the northern Philippines.

Quarter 3 Reflection

A. During the Third Quarter, my study of inductors in basic electronics revealed fundamental principles about these components. I learned that inductors store energy in magnetic fields when current flows, with key concepts including inductance measured in henries, Lenz's law explaining opposition to current changes, and inductive reactance in AC circuits varying with frequency.

B. I faced several challenges while exploring inductors, particularly in understanding inductive reactance and its frequency-dependent nature, which often confused me when comparing it to capacitive reactance. Calculating total inductance in series and parallel configurations were a little hard. C. To overcome these difficulties, I read some stuff about these lessons and online tutorials for clearer explanations, practicing numerous problems about the lesson.
D. Moving on, I will actively apply my knowledge and try to study harder and learn more about the lesson in basic electronics. I will read more about the lessons so i can better understand future lessons related to the subject.

Jose Rizal

José Rizal's greatest contribution was awakening a shared Filipino national identity. Through his novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he exposed the injustices and abuses under Spanish rule. These stories gave a common voice to the people's suffering, uniting them for the first time with a sense of collective pride and purpose, transforming them from isolated subjects into a nation. His core message was one of peaceful reform through education and reason. Rizal believed that by empowering Filipinos with knowledge and civic virtue, they could claim their dignity and right to equal treatment. He advocated for change through writing and intellectual progress, providing the moral foundation for the nation's aspirations. Ultimately, his execution by the Spanish in 1896 turned his ideas into revolution. Rizal’s life and death gave the Philippines its national hero and the enduring ideals of love for country, courage, and the pursuit of freedom.

Celebration of Christmas

The Christmas season, at its heart, is a celebration of light and hope. For Christians, it marks the belief that God entered the world with the birth of Jesus, bringing a promise of love and renewal. This spiritual core transforms the darkest time of year into a period focused on warmth and new beginnings, resonating even beyond religious practice.

This hope is expressed through connection and generosity. The season draws people together with family, encourages acts of kindness, and fills homes with light and festive meals. These customs all speak to a shared human desire for peace, joy, and goodwill toward others.

Ultimately, the essence of Christmas is found in turning toward these simple, good things. It’s a special time to pause, reflect on what matters most, and actively spread light in the world through our presence and our gifts to others.

Philippines National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month

The 2025 theme for the Philippines' Indigenous Peoples Month is "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future." This means that the country's future success depends on honoring and strengthening the unique cultures, knowledge, and rights of indigenous communities. They are seen as the essential foundation for building a sustainable nation.

The idea is straightforward: by empowering these communities to lead their own development, the country can create a better, more resilient future for everyone. Indigenous groups have valuable knowledge, especially in protecting the environment and managing resources sustainably.
This theme comes to life through real community projects. For example, some indigenous farmers work together to grow food for their villages, while others start small businesses or use new tools to improve traditional crafts like weaving or farming. These actions help enrich both culture and future.
