The longganisa festival is an annual celebration in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur held from January 16 to 25, 2026. This festival celebrates Vigan's cityhood  anniversary and to honor its iconic and delicious local product which is the vigan longganisa. It's more than just a food festival; it's a great showcase of Ilocano heritage, history and community spirit.

The festival has different activities activities such as the Education Day and Night, Vigan People's Council and Stakeholder's Socialization Night, Agricultural Day and Night, AVQ Cultural Night, Social Services Day and Night, Cityhood Day, SK Youth Day and Night, Metro Vigan Dance Sports Club Night and the Vigan City Fiesta  Parade and ABC Night.

The morning air in Vigan was already buzzing with excitement as i squeezed into a spot along the street. Then a distant drumbeat rolled through a crowd, and everyone leaned forward because the 2026 Longganisa Festival Grand Parade was beginning. The energy was infectious, a powerful mix of proud tradition and pure shared joy. My pockets were stuffed with candies and my heart full of joy.  Walking away, this unforgetable experience is truly a pride most cherished. and i can say that i am a proud Bigueno.

Quarter 3 Reflection

A. During the Third Quarter, my study of inductors in basic electronics revealed fundamental principles about these components. I learned that inductors store energy in magnetic fields when current flows, with key concepts including inductance measured in henries, Lenz's law explaining opposition to current changes, and inductive reactance in AC circuits varying with frequency.

B. I faced several challenges while exploring inductors, particularly in understanding inductive reactance and its frequency-dependent nature, which often confused me when comparing it to capacitive reactance. Calculating total inductance in series and parallel configurations were a little hard. C. To overcome these difficulties, I read some stuff about these lessons and online tutorials for clearer explanations, practicing numerous problems about the lesson.
D. Moving on, I will actively apply my knowledge and try to study harder and learn more about the lesson in basic electronics. I will read more about the lessons so i can better understand future lessons related to the subject.

Jose Rizal

José Rizal's greatest contribution was awakening a shared Filipino national identity. Through his novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he exposed the injustices and abuses under Spanish rule. These stories gave a common voice to the people's suffering, uniting them for the first time with a sense of collective pride and purpose, transforming them from isolated subjects into a nation. His core message was one of peaceful reform through education and reason. Rizal believed that by empowering Filipinos with knowledge and civic virtue, they could claim their dignity and right to equal treatment. He advocated for change through writing and intellectual progress, providing the moral foundation for the nation's aspirations. Ultimately, his execution by the Spanish in 1896 turned his ideas into revolution. Rizal’s life and death gave the Philippines its national hero and the enduring ideals of love for country, courage, and the pursuit of freedom.

Celebration of Christmas

The Christmas season, at its heart, is a celebration of light and hope. For Christians, it marks the belief that God entered the world with the birth of Jesus, bringing a promise of love and renewal. This spiritual core transforms the darkest time of year into a period focused on warmth and new beginnings, resonating even beyond religious practice.

This hope is expressed through connection and generosity. The season draws people together with family, encourages acts of kindness, and fills homes with light and festive meals. These customs all speak to a shared human desire for peace, joy, and goodwill toward others.

Ultimately, the essence of Christmas is found in turning toward these simple, good things. It’s a special time to pause, reflect on what matters most, and actively spread light in the world through our presence and our gifts to others.

Philippines National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month

The 2025 theme for the Philippines' Indigenous Peoples Month is "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future." This means that the country's future success depends on honoring and strengthening the unique cultures, knowledge, and rights of indigenous communities. They are seen as the essential foundation for building a sustainable nation.

The idea is straightforward: by empowering these communities to lead their own development, the country can create a better, more resilient future for everyone. Indigenous groups have valuable knowledge, especially in protecting the environment and managing resources sustainably.
This theme comes to life through real community projects. For example, some indigenous farmers work together to grow food for their villages, while others start small businesses or use new tools to improve traditional crafts like weaving or farming. These actions help enrich both culture and future.
